A 14-year-old boy died after a vehicle struck the bicycle he was riding Monday evening at Cook Street and Eastdale Avenue on Springfield’s east side.
Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon can confirm Quaneal Leone died at 6:45pm, shortly after his arrival to the emergency room at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. An autopsy was done today and preliminary findings show he died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the incident
Springfield Police and the coroner’s office are investigating.
