Attorneys for an emergency services worker charged with first-degree murder in the death of a Springfield man in 2022 say they are not ready for trial and plan to file new motions.
Attorneys for Peggy Finley briefly appeared in Sangamon County Court on Monday afternoon. Finley and another EMS worker, Peter Cadigan, were charged in the December 2022 death of Earl Moore Jr. Moore was strapped face down on a gurney and died from asphyxiation according to a coroner’s report.
Cadigan pleaded guilty in April to involuntary manslaughter. He is scheduled to be sentenced this afternoon.
