A bicyclist was injured early Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run collision in the 1800 block of North Dirksen Parkway in Springfield.
The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office reports the man in his 60s was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Deputies were called before 4:30 am. The sheriff’s office says the bicyclist was apparently riding north in the southbound lanes and was struck by a southbound white SUV that left the scene.
Investigators ask anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact either Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division or Crimestoppers.
