The Illinois Gaming Board approved new rules Thursday that would expand enrollment options for its voluntary self-exclusion program.
The program allows problem gamblers to ban themselves from casinos, sportsbooks and other forms of legalized betting.
The new rules would create new exclusion duration options and allow the IGB to explore new channels for signup, such as notarized mail, provider referral or an online portal, if approved through the legislative rulemaking process required of state agencies.
The Gaming Board also passed a resolution to bring the state’s massive video gambling network into the self-exclusion program by installing identity card readers at all gaming locations.
