Today’s Artist Spotlight band is Bridges Ablaze from Austin, Texas and their single, “Break.” Here is what the band had to share about the “Break”:
“This song is about the struggles within a toxic relationship, based on real life events. The song intimately details the experience of being in that relationship, as well as the psychological impact that the cycle of dysfunction introduced to the protagonist’s life. The song describes the experience of despair and resignation, as well as the act of martyring one’s self while repeatedly trying to save the relationship. The song ultimately culminates with an appeal to end that relationship and guard one’s self permanently from further emotional bloodletting. The protagonist, albeit reluctantly, accepts that the only way forward is to ultimately save himself from such a brutal cycle.”
