The Springfield Fire Department had to help a motorist stuck in flood waters on Monday night.
According to authorities the Springfield Fire Department responded to a report of a motorist stranded in floodwater near the intersection of Capitol Avenue and 3rd Street at around 8:15 P.M.
The occupant of the vehicle was immersed in chest high water. Firefighters assisted the individual in safely exiting the vehicle.
The occupant was evaluated on scene and was not injured.
